Robotic optoelectronic complex

Capability to ensure situational awareness in the Space is based on availability of highly informative space object (SO) observation means and the possibility to obtain SO coordinates and other information.

VIMPEL Interstate Corporation cooperates with the Astronomical Scientific Center JSC to offer a line of robotic optoelectronic complexes (OEC) for SO observation in all types of near-earth orbits. The line includes complexes with lens apertures of 30, 50 and 65 cm. 30-cm aperture lenses may be combined into a binocular.

OEC FUNCTIONALITY
  1. Automatic execution of the observation plan loaded directly to OEC or remotely (via Internet) from the user operating center.
  2. Intelligent control of operating modes of the complex, real-time acquisition and processing of optical images in the star field sectors of interest.
  3. Identification of space objects in the resulting optical images (even if prior information about them is not available), measurement of their angular coordinates and brightness.
  4. Combining measurements into SO tracks.
  5. Generating data in an agreed format for its transmission to the user’s operations center.



COMPONENTS AND BASIC SPECIFICATIONS OF OEC AND ITS ELEMENTS
  1. Optical modules with 30, 50 and 65 cm apertures.
  2. Digital photoreceiving device (Russian design) FPU 4040 with CMOS sensor:
    • FPU resolution 4096×4096 pixels;
    • Pixel size 9×9 µm;
    • Max. frame rate 20 Hz;
    • Min. quantum output 70%;
    • Readout noise 4 е;
    • Min. dynamic range 80 dB.
  3. A set of probes and sensors enabling OEC operation in a wide range of environmental conditions and protection against adverse factors (according to the user requirements).
  4. A mounting kit adapted for the specific user and respective OEC installation and functioning conditions.
  5. OEC software (composition and scope are agreed with the user).
  6. Detailed design documentation.

DELIVERY TERMS AND PERIODS, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND COST EFFECTIVENESS

OEC are manufactured and delivered under an agreement with the client (user). Turnkey complex delivery and commissioning is available. Since the complex is tailor-made, the delivery cost and terms are determined depending of the client’s requirements and OEC operating environment. If necessary and requested by the client, OEC can be equipped with information monitoring means operating in other frequency ranges (as part of separate projects).
